Manager, Product Marketing
Position Summary
The Manager, Product Marketing will drive SDS¡¯ efforts to expand its mobile communications presence outside of the Korean market. This individual will be responsible for the development of marketing strategies to maximize penetration, growth, and profitability for the company. In this capacity, the Director, Product Marketing will perform thorough market analysis to identify requirements that can be addressed by existing or new product lines. This individual will also need to define the go-to-market strategy for a given solution, support marketing and lead generation activities, and manage outbound product-related messaging.
Responsibilities
Define market requirements from thorough analysis of industry, technology, consumer trends as well as input from customers and internal stakeholders (e.g., sales, business development, etc.).
Provide critical market input to develop the concrete business case for new opportunities, including market sizing, target market segmentation, competitive analysis, and product positioning.
Work with the business development function to identify new market opportunities to expand the strategic solution offerings across the entire enterprise.
Define the go-to-market (channel/distribution) strategy for new products and services and support the Business Development Function in developing concrete partnership strategies.
Maintain relationships with key customers and partners.
Drive the development and execution of marketing campaigns for lead/demand generation, coordinating with key stakeholders - Sales, Marketing Communications, Product Management, and Business Development.
Analyze and understand the effect of competitive offerings on existing products and recommend corrective actions deemed necessary to resolve any competitive disadvantage.
Support marketing events – trade shows, conferences, webinars.
Manage external messaging and positioning – press releases, analyst briefings, and messaging targeted toward customers and/or partners
Provide sales support – presentations, demos, RFI/RFP responses, and development of relevant collateral (e.g., product brochures, data sheets, white papers, case studies, etc.)
Manage product branding and IP.
Skills and Expertise
10+ years of experience in the IT industry, preferably with an IT services or software solutions provider, focusing on product marketing and management.
Broad experience in all aspects of product marketing including development of new market opportunities, business case, go-to-market strategies, planning and execution of marketing campaigns, maintaining external relationships (e.g., partners, customers, industry analysts, etc.)
Experience delivering quality sales support to field sales.
Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
Must be a self starter and be able to work comfortably in unstructured environments
Strong teamwork skills and ability to drive decision-making across multiple functions and organizational areas
Mobile telecommunications industry experience strongly preferred
Globalization and Language Requirements
Fluency in English required; Korean language proficiency a plus
Travel Requirements
Position based in Korea, with approximately 25% travel requirement
Education
Bachelors degree in business, technology field; MBA strongly preferred
