Manager, Business Development and Alliances

Position Summary
The Manager, Business Development and Alliances will be primarily responsible for defining new market and growth strategies aligned with the overarching vision/mission of Mobile Communications Division of Samsung SDS. This will include evaluating and recommending new business growth opportunities, identifying appropriate channels to market, and managing strategic partnerships. Opportunities can include new lines of business, M&A, strategic investments, and joint ventures. In this role the individual must be adept at developing robust business cases, and advocating, presenting and gaining senior level support for new business proposals with senior level executives both inside and outside of Samsung SDS. The individual must also possess adequate experience in structuring and negotiating complex deals with strategic partners and managing the relationships on-going.

Responsibilities
 Research new business growth opportunities
 Drive the evaluation and recommendation of opportunities by developing robust business cases which include detailed financial models, investment and exit strategies, and go-to-market strategies.
 Identify potential partnering opportunities and prioritize based on alignment with product/service strategy and business, organizational, and technical fit with SDS.
 Build and execute on strategy to penetrate target partners, leveraging company¡¯s executives, regional business units, existing partners, and other resources.
 Prospect, qualify, negotiate, and close deals in an aggressive time frame.
 Support partner education and training initiatives.
 Provide strategic account management for partnerships (existing and new), balancing SDS¡¯ interests with partners¡¯ business needs. Drive relationship building at multiple levels between partner and SDS.
 Prioritize SDS investment and resources based on continuous monitoring of partner performance. Resolve partner pain points and implement performance improvement programs in a collaborative manner.
 Work with product management to define product and service offerings that meet partner¡¯s needs.
 Manage partner contracts.

Skills and Expertise
 10+ years of experience in the IT industry, preferably with an IT services or software solutions provider, focusing on strategic alliance management and business development.
 Demonstrated ability to grow and manage relationships with strategic partners, with a consistent focus on revenue growth and concrete business results
 Strong analytical foundation. Must be able to think through complex deal structures with multiple variables.
 Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
 Strong teamwork skills and ability to drive decision-making across multiple functions and organizational areas
 Must be a self starter and be able to work comfortably in unstructured environments.
 Mobile telecommunications industry experience strongly preferred, focused on either B2B or B2C business

Globalization and Language Requirements
 Fluency in English required; Korean language proficiency a plus

Travel Requirements
 Position based in Korea, with approximately 25% travel requirement

Education
 Bachelors degree in business, technology field; MBA strongly preferred
